And when he was brought to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died. Daryl - tough way to start a story. But lets go on. A woman built a place for a prophet of God to stay on his journeys. God rewarded her with a child when she was barren. Years later that child had a seizure and died in her arms...got it? She puts the boy in the prophets room and locks the door...and then tells her husband she is going to see the man of God.. And he said, Why go to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath. And she said, IT WILL BE ALRIGHT. Daryl - it will be alright. You know she is heart broken and desperate, but her first thoughts are to get to the MAN OF GOD! (Dont go getting worried I am not lifting up men, this is about THE MAN, CHRIST JESUS) When the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite. Run to meet her and say, Is it well with you? Well with your husband? Well with the child? And she answered, IT IS WELL. Daryl - what is up with this woman...it is well? Your son is dead, your husband doesnt have a clue, you travel for many hours maybe days to get to the man of God and now his servant is blocking access...yes, this has been a great vacation. WHEN SHE CAME to the mountain TO THE MAN OF GOD, SHE CLUNG TO HIS FEET. Gehazi came to thrust her away, but the man of God said, Let her alone, for her soul is bitter and vexed within her, and the Lord has hid it from me and has not told me. Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? Did I not say, Do not deceive me? Daryl - lets take a moment here (as my sister would say)... This woman had not asked a child of the man of God. She had accepted her lot in life..dont play with me..dont give me false hope she said when the prophet told her she would conceive and have a child. Now, her child is dead...she feels totally betrayed and devastated. Why promise me something (that was your idea anyway) just to take it away? (Elisha sends the servant to lay his staff on the boy...but the mother is having none of it...) The mother of the child said, As the Lord lives and as my soul lives, I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU. AND HE AROSE AND FOLLOWED HER. Daryl - are you following this? This woman has set her teeth into this like a bulldog...she is not letting the man of God off the hook. She is not leaving his side until this thing is resolved. When Elisha arrived in the house, the child was dead and laid upon his bed. So he went in, shut the door on the two of them, and prayed to the Lord. He went up and lay on the child, put his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. And as he stretched himself on him and embraced him, the childs flesh became warm. Then he returned and walked in the house to and fro and went up again and stretched himself upon him. And the child sneezed seven times, and then opened his eyes. Then [Elisha] called Gehazi and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she came, he said, Take up your son. She came and fell at his feet, bowing herself to the ground. THEN SHE TOOK UP HER SON AND WENT OUT. (2 Kings 4:20, 23-37 AMP) Daryl - my point...RUN TO, GET TO, CLING TO, NEVER LEAVE THE MAN OF GOD, CHRIST JESUS! dont take no for a answer from anyone who tries to tell you Gods promises arent for you . Anyone who tries to stand in your way to Jesus...go around them or through them. Pull the roof off of houses, shout out in the streets, get up in a tree, whatever you need to do to GET TO JESUS...DO IT! God is not teasing you with His promises. If He promised it HE MEANS IT! 1 Corinthians 1:20 says ..ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD (in Christ Jesus) ARE YES AND (in Christ) AMEN (so be it) to the Glory of God through us. God is good. James tells us that God, Is the Father of light and there is no darkness in Him at all! I am sorry for the length of this post, but I want to encourage all of you today that God is always faithful...dont give up...ALL IS WELL.
