And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. But as one was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed.” So the man of God said, “Where did it fall?” And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float. (II Kings 6:1-6 NKJV) This story speaks volumes to me. As we go through life at times we feel as if we are just burnt out with trying to serve The Lord ! We get to a point where we just want to throw in the towel. We wonder is God on vacation? Sometimes life just hits hard!! But like in this story we see the sons of the prophets working , trying to expand , and as one was cutting trees with his ax that he borrowed the head flew off into the River. Without the ax head hes not cutting any trees , now he can beat on that tree with the handle all day long but he is eventually gonna burn out and quit! Without the ax head he cannot cut the trees!! The same is true in our walk with Christ , we cannot do what he has called us to do apart from him !!When we try to do a work in our own power and our own time we eventually burn out and want to quit ! Just like without the ax head no work is getting done and The Lord tells us that without me you can do nothing Then as you see in 2 kings here that the man of God ask the man where did you loose the ax head in the river ? After he showed him the place he cut off a stick and threw it in there and he made the iron float! God can do whatever he wants to do ! Nothing is impossible with God!! Sometimes we make it harder than it really is to get back on track with God !! All we have to do is pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and move on with what God would have for us!! With God nothing is impossible!! #Jesusplusnothing=everything
