And with that my second and final term as IRA President has technically come to an end. Its been singlehandedly the most life changing experience Ive ever had. Never have I ever been challenged more. So many damn nights spent planning, running events, talking, and not sleeping. So many freaking ugly crying tears, boundary violating hugs, and iconic selfies. So much time spent awkwardly tabling, speaking in front of crowds, and sharing opinions in meetings. Gavel banging, obsessive list writing, multiple outfit changes, candy & ginger ale indulgence, glue gun burns with hardcore crafting, graphic design, social media managing, conference craziness, and an unreal amount of free food. This experience has changed me for the better and allowed me to meet so many people. I found two of my best friends (Jeff and Sam), and others that I solemnly swear will be part of my life so long as live. I got to go conference crazy 8 times with some of the most amazing people in the world #MOLO. I found my inner voice and learned how to use it effectively. I saw the power of sacrifice and of showing gratitude. I was able to be part of culture change in buying in to social justice and creating inclusive spaces. I was part of changing apathetic attitudes letting people be excited, spirited and proved they care about community. Above all else I found happiness and a passion for people that I will carry with so for years to come. To all those who helped me along the way, I say thank you so very much. To all those I worked with, know that we are literally, and always will be the epitome of the best. Forever and always, Mr. IRA aka the prince of res life alias Joteng.
