Andhra Bank sets itself an ambitious target KARIMNAGAR The Andhra Bank Karimnagar zone comprising Karimnagar and Adilabad districts has set the transaction target of Rs. 7,500 crore this fiscal. Disclosing this to newsmen after holding a meeting with the managers of the bank in Karimnagar on Saturday, Andhra Bank general manager V.B. Bhagavathi said they had done a business of Rs. 6,045 crore during the last financial year with Rs. 3,450 crore deposits and Rs. 2,612 advances. He said they had also decided to open 15 new branches in the region and added that a majority of them would be opened by September end. Mr. Bhagavathi said that they had extended financial assistance of Rs. 240 crore to women SHGs and implemented total financial inclusion (TFI) scheme in 95 villages of Karimnagar district. On this occasion, he also launched two new insurance-linked savings deposit schemes titled ‘Abhaya Jeevan Double Plus’ and ‘Abhaya Jeevan Triple Plus’, which would have insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh respectively.
