Andre Kudacki photographed the attached couple arguing in front of yesterdays Super Moon. Arguing is not always bad. It is also a sign of caring and love. Eastern poets have always found a lot more love and charm in Moon that western scientists would ever discover. Super Moon occurs every time Moon makes the closest approach possible to our Earth on its elliptical orbit. The fact that Moon is associated with both oceanic and crustal tides is fully documented. My theory is that it also affects peoples hearts and minds. Pakistani Peoples Poet, late Habib Jalib was an extraordinary human being who devoted his whole life fighting for peoples rights and exposing the corrupt and illegitimate rulers of the land. His struggles were never rewarded in his life time and out of sheer frustration he once addressed the ever delightful Moon not to rise in his wretched land that he called the Land of the Blind. This week is different. With the Super Moon over its hills and plains, Pakistan is poised for change. People may not get what they aspire for in one sweep but they have already shaken the very foundation of malaise that afflicts the nation. Their arguing and debating is a sign that they care and want a better future for their children. I share their aspiration fully. DrMuhammad M Awan 8/11/14
