Andrew used to cover James Harden back in his Arizona State Basketball days. FOX Sports Wisconsins Andrew Gruman: MILWAUKEE -- During his pregame gathering with the media, Bucks coach Jason Kidd summed up the offensive philosophy of the Houston Rockets quite well. Their philosophy is threes, layups and free throws, Kidd said. Its no secret. Thats where they shoot it from. Despite being short-handed, Houston held true to its offensive system Saturday night. The Rockets took 38 shots from beyond the arc, hitting 15 of them in a 117-103 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in front of 16,119 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. James Harden finished with 34 points on 9-of-14 shooting, hitting 4 of his 5 3-point attempts and 12 of 13 free-throw attempts, while veteran Jason Terry helped pick up the slack for a Houston team down three starters with a season-high 18 points. They believe in their philosophy, and thats why theyve been one of the best teams in the league, Kidd said. They spread you out. They have talented players that can do it at a very high level. This was without (Dwight) Howard and a couple of other guys. Their system works. You have to give multiple efforts on the defensive end and take care of the ball on the offensive end. We didnt do that tonight.
