Andrew was crucified, Bartholomew was crucified, Phillip was crucified, Peter was crucified hanging upside down, James was stoned to death, the other James was killed by King Herod, Paul was beheaded, Simon the Zealot died in his sleep as well as Thaddaeus, and Matthew. Thomas will killed by a pine spear thrust through the four members of his body. John did not die a cruel death, he died of old age. Yes, this is John The Beloved. Many of Jesus disciples died cruel deaths for preaching the gospel. The only thing these Christians needed to do in order to escape a cruel execution was simply: to denounce their faith in Jesus, yet they decided not to deny Him, why? People do not die for a lie - these disciples must have seen something that made them choose their cruel death over denouncing their faith. Christianity was NOT spread by Jesus, but by these disciples. They willingly went out to tell about Jesus resurrection while putting their life on the line. This is very strong evidence that what they died for is the truth - because people dont die for a lie. The reason that many of these disciples were executed is this: They refused to renounce Jesus being the Christ... That is the truth they are willing to die for... Is that the truth youre willing to die for? Has this truth of being one of Jesus disciples caused you to deny who He really is? Jesus disciples were, and still are being persecuted daily. In the end, do you have enough of the truth in you to believe that greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world? -next
