Angela asks: I am very frustrated trying to figure out why my goat milk tastes acidic, bitter, sour, just plain awful. They are in a pen with no pasture so I can regulate what they are eating to find the cause of this distaste. Coastal Bermuda hay, Southern States goat pellets, goat sweet feed, Purina dairy goat pellets, soybean meal are what they eat. Mastitis test came back negative, stainless steel milk pail used, milk stored in glass jars and chilled quickly, and 3 different kinds of water have been tried. I do have 3 grown males on the property, but not in the same pen. They have pens on opposite sides of the barn. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Im tired of collecting all this milk just to feed it to someones pigs.
