Angels- #65- July 22- 635 words- Now, in chapter eight, we see the angels preparing to carry out Gods commands; this is the great tribulation. We have to begin in verse one, even though there are no angels mentioned in this verse: And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. This is one of the unknowns of the bible. We can find no other reference to this verse any where else in Gods word. If we offer an opinion, and it is only an opinion, we can speculate that perhaps God, in his very compassionate role, is very sad that he is going to be pouring out these judgments onto the earth and mankind, which are his crowning works. These are creations that he made and now the time has come, due to the evil that is in mans heart, to destroy all these works of his hands. Perhaps, God just takes a few minutes, this half hour, to reflect on the works of his hands before unleashing the most horrible events that mankind has ever witnessed upon the earth and its inhabitants. I can see heaven, normally a busy but very orderly place, come to a complete standstill, as this order comes down from the Great Creator, down from the very throne of God, down from the Great I AM; the words issue forth, QUIET : and total, silence engulfs the expanse of heaven. No movement of angels; no mechanics of any objects; even the gurgle of water from the river of life ceases; TOTAL SILENCE!!!! What an awesome picture in my mind and hopefully in yours, as God stops all activity to consider all the atrocities that must fall upon mankind and the earth: they will not be changed or altered; what God has already decided to occur will occur: but God reflects on how all these things will change the course of the world and mankind forever. I had to include this verse, for I believe it is so important in ushering in the great devastation that is getting ready to come. Up until now, we have only seen what effect the seals of God will have upon the earth and mankind, sort of a preview, of things to come. Now we will see the actual destruction that falls from the throne of God. Verse two, And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. These are the seven Spirits of God, that are encompassed in these seven angels, for they have the seven trumpets that will issue out the seven trumpet judgments of God. Verse three, And another angel came and stood at the alter, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden alter which was beyond the throne. We see this eighth angel with this censer, and he takes of the much incense, and mixes it with the prayers of the saints, those saints that are sending up prayers for their sick and dying loved ones, and most importantly praying for their families and loved ones that are lost sinners; they have to feel that the end is near and their prayers go up continually before God to save their loved ones. That my friends are the prayers you and I are offering right now, today, to God: for we are in the last days: we know the end is very near we dont want to see any of our families wind up in hell, a place created for Satan and his angels.
