In Luke 15, the illustrations Jesus used of the lost included a lost sheep, a lost coin, and a wayward son. When the rebellious repent and turn to God, their change of heart is celebrated in heaven. The gospel provides both a diagnosis of the problem of sin and the cure in salvation.
