Anglers enjoyed the fishing and the fantastic sunshine in todays Saturday open match held on Big Beam. A big well done to Stef Brown on winning with a fantastic weight of 68lb 5oz of quality carp caught from peg 41. Stef caught all day long fishing the pole to the far bank feeding pellet with meat on the hook. In second place with 48lb 14oz of quality carp was Dave Kelly (Elton Tackle) fishing from peg number 4. Like Stef, Dave fished the pole to the far bank and used 4mm soft pellet on the hook. In third place with 36lb 5oz, fishing from peg 27 was Scott Sandlands. Scott had a real mixed bag of smaller fish with some quality carp making up the weight. In forth with a similar bag to Scott was Malc Swindels with 35lb 15oz from peg 21. A very encouraging match with Big Beam showing some good form especially with all the placings coming from different areas of the lake !! Our next open match will be held on Big Beam this coming Thursday, see you there !!
