Angry Kids & Stressed Out Parents will debut on CBC Televisions Doc Zone on Thursday, March 27th at 9:00 p.m. The documentary follows children and parents enrolled in groundbreaking early childhood (0-6) interventions that are currently being used or piloted in various parts of Canada at home, in school and in the community to help all children (but especially those at-risk, including children living in poverty). The programs have an evidence base to show that they not only help children avoid future troubles (like mental health issues, addictions, criminality, school drop out just to name a few) but also save on societal costs down the road. The documentary includes an interview with Monique Lépine, the mother of Marc Lépine, who committed the Montreal Massacre. His mother reflects on some of the adverse experiences he had as a child.
