Angry is ugly. There is nothing more repelling than an angry - TopicsExpress

Angry is ugly. There is nothing more repelling than an angry person. The body language, posture, tone of voice and facial expressions turn relationships away. We all get angry from time to time which is natural but angry, no matter how often you wear it, is ugly. There is another level of love out there which means that you become aware that tatruming gets you nothing, it actually gets you less than you had before. Also, no amount of anger typically changes the situation you are in, and demanding only creates resistance as its counterpart. When we are upset it is best to sit in it for a while until you can find your rational mind. You will see that under all anger is hurt. Hurt is understandable and engenders empathy from others. It has the potential to draw others in, rather than repel them away. Loving ourselves cannot be done if we are constantly reacting to life. We lose relationships, beat ourselves up for losing control and our situations never improve...they only get worse. Emotions are like waves, and acting out at the peak of a wave is not wise. Sit with what you feel. Get clear, find the hurt under the anger and go out and communicate with the intention to find a common ground, rather than a divided sense of rightness. There is always time to talk. In the moment of anger you may feel that you need to get it out now...only to have regrets later. There is no maturity to anger and so you will not get a positive result. Sit with it, find yourself through it, love yourself and the other enough to treat each situation with respect. Is this easy, NO...is it completely possible...YES...it simple takes a mindset of composure and the commitment to being someone you can still love at the end of a difficult situation.
