Anima. Feelings in relation to anima: // overwhelmed // thankful // overwhelmed // I have tried and failed to write this status several times now. Honestly its because I dont know what to say. Because thank yous are not enough. Because none of it has sunk in. But thank you. Thank you to every single cast member - who gave themselves on stage - who lay bare and naked alongside me - emotionally, physically, spiritually. You are all magnificent. Thank you to Steffen and Lize and Shishani who understood us. Who understood the essence of anima and elevated it with their haunting, spectacular talent - who created the aural world of our tribe with such humility, expertise and sensitivity. Thank you to Taati for clothing us in our visions. Thank you to Willem for making our bizarre visions come to life with moving photographs (both literally and figuratively) - the photographs that forced people to sit up and pay attention. And thank you for hugging me even when I was dripping in sweat and sobbing with relief and happiness after our first show. Thank you to Lila. Our rock, our adviser, our girl crush, our artful maker of films. The one that kept our eyes open when we could not see. Thank you to Francios, our bulldog, our firecracker without whom we could not have had 3 sold out shows. What a coup!! Thank you to Irmi and Guillaume for their spectacular leap of faith. Thank you to David for your practical help, your shoulder, your advice and your support - you are insane and I love you. Thank you mama...for everything. THANK YOU to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who came to share in the story of our tribe - to perform for you was an honour and your feedback makes me want to weep and wilililili at the same time.
