Animal Welfare Association Our boy Diesel went into foster care yesterday to give him a break from the shelter. Heres his first report. He is doing very well so far, still getting used the new smells and routine. He saw the cats, but has yet to go up to them - I think he actually is afraid of them. We gave him a bath and set him up with a warm, velvety blanket for him to lay on in his crate at night so he learns that he has his own space in our home. Oh, and he has made sure to test out the couch. He is so sausage-y that he has to make an extra effort to get up on the couch, but he has no problem spreading out once he is up. Gina, our dog, seems to really look out for him - he was whimpering in his crate when we went to bed and she kept running to the bedroom door. They are hitting it off so well. I will continue to give you guys updates as we see more from him. Im sure its going to take him a few days to really unwind and let out his true personality, but for now he is SUCH a sweetheart. I think it shouldnt be a problem to find this guy a forever home. All of us here at the AWA would just love it if Diesel could be adopted out of foster care. PLEASE SHARE!
