Animal intelligence is never to be underestimated. I do not mean - TopicsExpress

Animal intelligence is never to be underestimated. I do not mean that like in George Orwells Animal Farm that the creatures are engaged in a conspiracy against man or a concerted will to even thwart humanity or the lack of it, such as in Charolettes Web by E.B. White; but that there is a certain cognizance governing these creations of Allah. We as a species have a lot to learn not only from such symbiotic relationships and interspecies interactions but our capacity to deal and take on new challenges, expect the unexpected and for that lend empathy within our environment to species outside of our own; is seemingly but a shadow in comparison; that is if one can first credit animals with these types of awarenesses. I have often made the case that animal intelligence is able to be definitively proven based on their daily interactions with one another even just in context to their place within the food web. Animals must be able to read the disposition of other species outside their own in a flash for such determinations prove what the next course of action should or should not be. For example; birds of many different species can be readily observed feeding in parks throughout the world based on the generous handouts of human beings inhabiting the metropolises that often frame such sanctuaries and town squares serving as impromptu animal refuges. For instance here on the Eastern seaboard of the United States there is a definitive pecking order year round for the avaries when bread crumbs are distributed on the ground and human interactions are kept to a minimum. Laridae (or seagulls of all types) if they spot such a treat with pieces of bread intermixed with the stale small crumbs, will be the first to remove such select cuts while simultaneously swarms of starlings will waste no time swooping in to snatch up the unwanted tiny morsels that are then retrieved to the safety of the upper branches of nearby trees. Next come in the pigeons, who cautiously stay a safe distance from the seagulls or try to mind their footing as well in order to not contest the starlings constant approach as they flurry in and out of the same scene; grabbing flakes of crust and taking them up to various roosts. Finally the sparrows arrive in droves; working just like the starlings in a group effort as well as (for there is safety in numbers) and to absorb as many of the tiny errant crumbs as possible before the fixings are entirely absorbed by the ever present pigeons. Often called winged rats because of their relentless appetites, pigeons are like little dust vacs, constantly on the intake; and within moments the scene has effectively moved on. Now mind you this is all occurring within the same animal kingdom of Aves and the subdivision of Neognathae. So many diverse sub-species of the same order interacting, reading their fellow Aves dispositions and rhythms, engaging in symbiosis in terms of the unexpected opportunity (human interactions, feedings or finds) and the efficient removal of foreign or organic matter in regards to the crumbs analogy, while maintaining a peaceful equilibrium throughout. The whole scene I described is also observed by other Avaries whose diet is not set to bread or such organic compounds of millet and grains; like the Falconidae and their ranks consisting of hawks, eagles, of course falcons, whose observances are not wasted but stored or saved for the perfect opportunity to remove only what they need and to otherwise leave the scene unimpeded. If one were then to draw another analogy to this we could utilize what happens during times of human famine. The refugee feeding centers that receive the dispossessed and attempt to stave off malnutrition are anything but orderly; as there is usually sheer chaos and the exodus of such a disasters victims is usually anything but peaceful. War, civil strife, child exploitation, human trafficking/slavery, and robbery are more endemic ills that follow on the heels of such cataclysms or are often entwined in its very origins; that is to say human malfeasances are often compounding ever present and persistent problems. I was going to caption the above photo of the borough stuck in a hole as simply Tri-burro, as it relates here in NYC and the surrounding five boroughs; Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan. A burro is a small donkey used primarily for labour and is famous for the steed that Don Quioxte rode against the windmills. A burrow is also a small hole and for this is what this poor animal fell into ot perhaps even crawled into on its own; why, youd have to ask the burro. So Tri-burro seemed quite fitting as this magnificent animal is demonstrating something else we can emulate; patience. It is a work animal, bred this way for centuries and is often at the receiving end of abuse and the hard headedness of its masters as it is always asked to push on and carry one more load. The animal through the process of natural selection alone is quite parient, as it would have to be in order to survive when it comes to man. Its reputation for being stubborn as a mule, is often just transference of the owners disposition to their charge. Look at the face of this alleged beast of burden, he or she is calm, relaxed, and waits patiently for their human rescue. Would you be? Are we so patient after just a minor auto accident? In fact, call it personification but Id swear the animal is keeping a secret as to how it managed to get there in the first place and is wearing a little chagrin; again youd have to ask the burro. Given our present state of human reductionism and cultural degeneracy as a species, as mankind purposefully and intentionally defies and rebels against our Lords Laws and Commandments; that after reading this people will just simple caption the photo A$$-hol# as this subject matter as well as reality television shows seems to be all that is on anyones minds at all unless its college hoops playoffs or the Super Bowel and one cant leave out the Academies, of course. As a culture it seems that we seek only the lowest common denominator in everything and everyone, and this article or note is a fair test of just such an outcome in the average reader, for leave out this last paragraph there will probably be a predictable future: lest Im guilty of the same thing or stating fact as I see it. Just some Pause for Thought...Praise Allah for all of a His Creations. i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article4564895.ece/alternates/s2197/This-donkey-was-stuck-in-a-hole-in-the-ground.jpg
