Animal kingdom- Invertebrates- animals that do not possess backbone, usually smaller in size but larger in number, 95 % of whole animal kingdom consists of vertebrates. Vertebrates- much bigger in size but less in numbers. Cold blooded animals are those animals which change its body temperature according to environment. Fish is a cold blooded animal. Dolphins are warm blooded animal. Dolphins are almost as clever as humans. Reptiles are cold blooded vertebrates. Turtles are the oldest of the living reptiles. Turtles are the oldest of living reptiles. Amphibians are cold blooded vertebrate animals. Their young ones develop in water and breathe with the aid of gills, but as they mature they develop lungs and start living on land. Common amphibians are frogs, toads and salamanders. Birds are warm blooded vertebrate animals. Mammals are warm blooded vertebrate animals. Common mammals are elephants, dogs, cats etc. Bacteria were the first living organism and hence the oldest. Extraterrestrial intelligence means search for life on other planets. Beginning of the universe 15 billion years ago. Cell is a structural and functional unit of all living organisms. The nucleus controls the anabolic or constructive activities; cytoplasm controls catabolic or destructive activities. Plant cell contains cell wall and large vacuole, animal cell do not contain these two. In animals the food material is usually stored in the form of glycogen; in plants it is stored as starch grains. A simple microscope consist of one lens, it soften known as magnifier. A compound microscope consists of two or more lenses.
