Animals have pain, feelings, and often live within situations that we would never make ourselves or our family live. I commend her for telling the story. It is unfortunate that the dog is punished for reacting a perfectly normal way. It is NOT acceptable to let a child climb and/or pull on an animal. EVER. The dog bites once and it is somehow their fault and they often die because of it. Be aware and teach children respect of others. Tune into your pet to see if they are in pain. And dont skimp on meds or taking care of them. Animals are expensive. Know and understand that before getting one. They are not dispensable. They are sentient beings.
