Anime chart for the current season (starts this week and next): static.neregate/2014/06/neregate-Summer-2014-Anime-Chart-v3.jpg I tend to pick up shows based on the studio involved (which is usually a good measure of quality for a show). With that in mind, this season Ill probably be picking up- ***************************************************************************************** Free S2 - KyoAni shows always look good. First season was pretty good, not massively interested in swimming but the characters make it interesting. Glasslip - PA Works are responsible for some of my favourite shows of recent times (True Tears, Angel Beats!, Another, Tari Tari) and everything they produce tends to be great. The show sounds like a slice-of-life/scifi crossover. Works for me! Tokyo Ghoul - Very popular in Manga form and you guys know how I like my dark, gory anime, haha. This reminds me a bit of Mirai Nikki and will be worth checking out the first few episodes. Sword Art Online 2 - I still play a lot of World of Warcraft so I love anime based on MMOs. Enjoyed the first season, I dont think its as good as all the hype suggests but its definitely enjoyable. Barakamon - Sounds like a solid slice-of-life, the quality of the animation will determine whether or not I stick with this one. Aldnoah.Zero - This is pretty much as good as anime gets for me. Produced by A-1 (a great studio), its written by the same guy responsible for Psycho-Pass and directed by the guy in charge of Ga-Rei Zero. This will be show of the season for me probably. Highly recommend. Jinsei - Im only watchign this because I used to work for a fansub group called Jinsei, haha. Hanayamata - madhouse are one of the best studios around in Japan and have a very good pedigree. The synopsis doesnt sound amazing but Im confident this one will be worth watching. Magimoji Rurumo - You guys will like this one, its supposed to be very funny. JC Staff as well so youll like the animation style. Zankyou no Terror - Plot sounds interesting. Psycho-Pass - This is going to be a reboot of the TV series, will basically take the entire first season and squish it into 11 one-hour episodes. I dont know why. ********************************************************************************* I generally try the first episode of EVERYTHING and then try and prune it down to about 10 shows each season (I just havent got time for more!) so if anything special pops up Ill chuck it in this group.
