Animosity between two communities still there in Kishtwar Jammu is on the track Ban on internet services to be lifted on Thursday evening or on Friday Police are arresting culprits People of Kashmir showed great sense of maturity: DGP Ashok Prasad CNS: Director General of Police Ashok Prasad Thursday said that the curfew in Kishtwar would continue till the animosity between the two communities would not be over. “Animosity between two communities is still there and once it would be over, relaxation would be given in curfew. We don’t want to take any chance at this point of time,” he told CNS adding that police is trying to evacuate stranded Yatri’s and tourists from there but the inclement weather is becoming an obstacle. Ashok Prasad said that the situation in Kishtwar is under control but the gap between the two communities is still wide. “As a precautionary measure we have not given any relaxation there for the consecutive sixth day. As the situation would improve and atmosphere would become conducive, curfew would be lifted there,” he said adding that there was no impact of communal violence in Kashmir. While replying to a question, Ashok Prasad said that Kashmir is peaceful and the people here showed a sense of maturity. “Internet service was suspended to stop violence from spreading to many parts. We are going to call a review meeting and hopefully the internet service would either be restored on Thursday evening or on Friday,” he said. He further said that nobody would be given a room who is found involved in communal clashes. “We have arrested scores of people who have been found responsible for goading communal violence in Kishtwar. In Jammu region also, the police has arrested scores of culprits and the investigation is going on to find out the motive behind these communal clashes,” Prasad said. (CNS)
