Anita Sarkeesian gets death threats/doxxed: All of gaming culture is toxic and this is an epidemic! Alex from Target gets death threats/doxxed, as well as his girlfriend: Totally fine apparently, requiring no intervention. The first claims to have gotten it because she spoke out yet the exact same thing happened to a kid who did absolutely nothing - he didnt even take the picture that apparently has gotten famous. He had his picture taken for being attractive, it got put on the Internet, and since then people have found his location, harassed him consistently, and even targeted his girlfriend. But is this kid gonna end up on The Colbert Show? Probably not since his reaction hasnt been to blame all women, or call high school culture inherently toxic and terrible (even though I doubt anyone would disagree with that...) but to try his best to get through it and ignore it. This isnt an endorsement of Anita Sarkeesian being doxxed, this is saying that getting doxxed on the Internet is not symbolic of anything, because apparently it also happens en masse to random kids who work at Target.
