Anitas Maple & Pecan Rusks 4 Cup plain flour 8 tspn baking powder 1 cup sugar 160gm butter 250 gm sunflower seed 300gm pecan nuts chopped in half 1/2 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup buttermilk 1egg Rub butter and flour and b/powder together in a bowl. Add sugar seeds, and pecans and mix Add Maple syrup milk and egg and mix to form a dough. Roll into balls and place snuggly into pans or roll out into rusk tins and cut into fingers before baking bake @ 180 degree oven for 30-40 min approx. or until brown. You can lightly sprinkle with brown sugar before baking, its very nice. When cool, split the rusks and return them to the oven to dry @ 100 degrees fan forced with the oven door slightly open for biscuits to completely dry out. You can also replace the same quantities of pecans and maple syrup with honey and macadamias to make honey macadamia rusks which are just as nice :) xx
