Anjuman E Mahdavia Markazi Anjuman E Mahdavia, also known as Anjuman and MAM is the most important community center for Mahdavia community of Hyderabad, India. In early 19th century the community leaders used to hold meeting at Haji Muhammed Ali Khans house. As a result of these meeting the formation of our centre, Markazi Anjuman-e-Mahdavia was put forwarded in a meeting with elites and intellectuals of the community who had the will and zeal to work for the progress of the community on April 24,AD 1902/15 Muharram 1320 AH. History The History of MAM reveals that as late as 1330H. (1912 G) at the beginning of the commencement of every meeting the head of that meeting was chosen by mutual consultation of the members present. So in every meeting there used to be a new president. To carry on the administrative and communicational tasks Khan Bahadur Syed Ali Qasim was nominated as the first secretary of MAM. Then Syed Hussain Saheb of Pangudi was nominated as the secretary of MAM in 1910. On the resolution presented by Murshid Syed Murtuza Saheb Yadullahi, conventions of Meelad and Urs started to take place during that period, In 1913 a regular president was elected by the members for a definite period that is four years. During the presidency of Janab Syed Yaqoob definite place was donted by Hajji Mahammed Ali Khan the chief promoter and co-founder of MAM. From then the present place had become the permanent office of MAM. In 1903 MAM took the first step towards the accomplishment of its goals and establish (School) named Madrasa sultaniyah. Syed Abdullah was made the in charge of the Madrasa. Considering the tremendous popularity of its syllabus and its teaching method, the Madrasa was taken over by the Asif jahi Government in the year 1911. The modern day Chanchalguda junior college is the equivalent or replacement of Madrasa Sultaniyah. To further bring educational awakening in the youth, Mahdavia Boarding house was established 1914. In the Mahdavia Boarding house education was organized for both Religious and Modern. Achievements In the year1326, H.1908G. Shoba Islah-ul-Mu-saddi–qeen was established and the task of Mehdvia census began under it. The youth of that period under the guidance of the elderly person did a commendable job and accomplished their mission in the territory of Hyderabad. During the Presidency of Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung many important tasks were accomplished by the MAM. The prohibition on the loud recitation of the Tasbeeh in Akalkot was quashed by persuading the Maharaja and the British Government. Pension was sanctioned to the family of the person who took to forsaking of the worldly pleasures or Tarik Al-Duniya, Considering his case as that of a deceased employee, in the event of Tark-e-Duniya(Renouncing of worldly pleasures) by the Government employee MAM acquired the place where it is housed today by disposing the house donated by Hajji Mohammed Ali Khan. In an auction and Mr Bulund Khan Mahmand Zai, All India Mahdavia conference took place in 1353AH/1935 AD in Channa Patna . An industrial exhibition was organized at that occasion. That exhibition was inaugurated by Nobel prize winner Scientist Sir C.V.Raman, Mr Mohammed Ismail the Dewan of Mysore visited the exhibition and praised the efforts of Mahdavia Community. This conference proved fruitful as there was great exposition of national harmony, religious as well as industrial awareness. It also added fuel to the will and zeal to learn and do something beneficial for the community. Encouraged by the results of the first conference second such conference was organized at the same town in 1941 The marriages of the Mahhdavis of Aowsa used to be solemnized by the Qazis. Upon being represented by the Mahdavis of that area MAM requested the Taluqdar of Osmanabad Amir Ali Khan to exempt the Mahdavis from doing so and the request was given due consideration thus the Mahdavi Murshideen Kiraam Started to Solemnize the marriages of the Mahdavis of that area. An organization of the industrial products by Mahdavia entrepreneurs was formed.
