Ann-Kathrin Wustrack [Leathern Tool Series] 우리는 오늘날 최첨단 시대에 살고 있지만, 반대로 전통 장인 정신은 희미해지고 있습니다. 하지만 여전히 전통작업을 하는 사람들은 있습니다. 목요일 마지막으로 소개해 드릴 독일의 디자이너 Ann-Kathrin Wustrack는 장인 정신을 가지고 무엇인가를 창조해 내는 과정에서, 수공구를 만드는 도구자체는 대량생산된 것을 사용한다는 것에 모순을 느꼈습니다. 이러한 이유로 그녀는 가죽 자투리들을 사용해서 가장 일반적으로 가정에서 쓰이는 다섯 가지의 도구를 디자인했습니다. 공구함에서 공구들을 숨길 필요가 없다는 것이 조금 터무니 없게 들릴 수도 있지만, 그는 수공구의 아름다움을 보여주고자 손잡이에 조금은 특별한 아름다움을 주었는데요, 규칙적인 구조로 압축시킨 가죽을 강화하여 나무 손잡이에 두르고,매트블랙 컬러의 금속에 투명한 마감제를 바르는 것으로 마무리 되었습니다. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ann-Kathrin Wustrack [Leathern Tool Series] Leathern Tool Series is a minimalist design created by Germany-based designer Ann-Kathrin Wustrack. We live in a high tech age today, in which old traditional craftsmanship becomes rare, though creating things with your own hands is a true joy. There are still people with love for traditional (wood) working. When looking at hand tools, one can notice the predominant use of plastics. Its a contradiction: A tool to do creative work with, made out of a mass production artificial material. That is why a series of the 5 most common home maintenance tools was designed, making use of leather offcuts. The primarily absurd gag of not having to hide your tools in a toolbox but wanting to show them openly, led to the idea of creating a unique outstanding surface for the handles. Therefore a leather press with a regular structure was invented. The pressed leather became reinforced and finally applied to the wooden handles. All metal parts got a matt black spray paint and a matt clear finish, leaving the blades in raw steel.
