Ann update. Ann said her hematologist saw her today at the infusion center (he was to call Charles but never did - he will have to call him to discuss implications). Ann said he wants to restart the Chemo treatments (Jackafi). Ann initially started it but it was discontinued after 4 months taking it - it caused her bone marrow to shut down and not produce blood cells. It also caused the spleen to enlarge (permanently) and not function. After discontinuing the Chemo (2 months later), Ann started needing transfusions on a regular weekly basis. Ann wanted to go back on the Chemo to see if it would help...Dr said No then, that the medication (still in trial and experimental stage) was the cause and reason for the bone marrow damage and not to take it again. Now Ann said he wants to restart it. Ann said she is confused. (continued)...
