Anna Chatfield March 13, 1939 - April 21, 2014 Resident of Santa Cruz Anna Chatfield passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on Monday, April 21. Anna was a longtime resident of Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley where she was able to enjoy the company of her children, and grandchildren. Anna was born in 1939 to James and Anna Stramiello in Albany, New York where she grew up. She attended Colonie Central High School (Class of 57). She later married Robert Chatfield. Soon after they moved to Whittier, California where they raised their family. In 1979 they moved to Santa Cruz, California where they ran several businesses (Montgomery Wards Catalog Store, and Scotts Valley Video Center). They were also active realtors. Anna loved gardening, collecting antiques, traveling, dining, playing bingo, cooking, and learning about the Amish. She also loved spending time with her many friends…as they all touched her life dearly. She had a tremendous sense of humor. She had a knack for finding misplaced items (nicknaming her The Beagle). She was an amazing mother, wife, sister, daughter, neighbor, co-worker, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob), and her daughter, Lorie. Anna is survived by her sister, Lorie Mieneker , of Albany, NY, her brother, Frank Stramiello , of Albany, NY, and her two surviving children, Mark Chatfield of Santa Cruz, and Chris Chatfield of Scotts Valley. She was greatly loved by her three grandchildren: Brook S Chatfield of Santa Cruz, Cohen Chatfield, and Autumn Chatfield of Scotts Valley. A private family memorial will be held later this year in celebration of her life.
