Anna and I had a little mad moment a few weeks ago and signed up to take part in the Great Gorilla Run on 20 September 2014… and yes this does entail dressing up in full Gorilla attire for the event. Now that you have an idea of just how horrendous we are going to look, I will go into more detail for you. The run is 8k and we will be joining other fancy-dressed loons taking over the streets of London in the name of gorilla conservation. Passing some of London’s most iconic landmarks, dressed like complete nut-jobs, is certainly going to be a day to remember!! The Gorilla Organization works to protect the endangered mountain gorilla in its native habitat. It also works to ensure that local people benefit from their unique natural heritage. The Organization, founded by the late Dian Fossey who lived with the gorillas, is involved in education, conservation and public awareness. We have pledged to raise £400 and considering our employer, Saunderson House, will match your donations up to a maximum of £500, I think this extremely achievable! But we would love to smash our target so the more you can give, the better! Although the wise words of Tesco always ring true: ‘every little helps’.
