Anne Ninneman asked I have wanted a Dane most of my life. However, after reading numerous posts and hearing how costly and how many health issues Danes seem to have in addition to the destruction of beds/couches/etc, I am beginning to wonder if they are worth it. I dont want to be negative; but unfortunately that is almost all I see in this group: Heath issues, skin/ hair issues, behavior issues, food issues, and cost. Please, explain why you chose a Dane and continue to stay with the breed. I am looking for any positive traits ( beyond love and companionship dogs offer) to help me decide if a Dane is really the breed for me or not. We have a yorkie currently but he will be our only small dog ever as hes irreplaceable!
