Anne update for all of you who have asked. First of all, we both thank all of you for your concern and well wishes. For now, keep sending them. Anne had a rough night. After beginning to feel better last evening, head pain-wise, she spiked up to over 104°F overnight and the head pain remains very bad. Shes on a 6-hour schedule for Tylenol and Ibuprofen and her fever cycles up and down precipitously during that cycle. Since this is a virus and all the tests that have been run look fine (including a CAT scan), there is little we can do but try to keep the fever under as much control as possible, her pain moderated to the extent that we can, and to keep her hydrated. Despite what some folks have suggested, this is NOT treatable with antibiotics. If things dont improve by morning well go back to the ER. In the meantime, we just have to keep her as comfortable as possible and let her body fight it off.
