#AnneArundel Police Report August 2 2013: WESTERN DISTRICT ARMED ROBBERY (CITIZEN) SEVERN On August 2, 2013, at approximately 12:40 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to the 1800 block of Triple Feather Road in Severn for a reported robbery of citizens. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victims, a 37-year-old and a 13-year-old female from Severn along with a 48-year-old male from Baltimore City and a 15-year-old male from Severn, who stated the two suspects, one brandishing a handgun, approached them and took a ball cap from the 15-year-old male and an iPhone from the 13-year-old female. The suspects subsequently fled on foot. There were no injuries to the victims. Officers searched the area, but did not locate the suspects. Suspects: Two black males, approximately 5’7”, 170 pounds. One suspect was wearing black jeans, a t-shirt and an American flag bandana on his face. The second suspect was wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a black bandana on his face ARMED ROBBERY (CITIZEN) ODENTON On August 2, 2013, at approximately 1:05 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to the intersection of Commodore Court and Commissary Circle in Odenton for a reported citizen robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 30-year-old male victim, who stated the two suspects, both brandishing handguns, approached him and took his cell phone and wallet. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers searched the area, but did not locate the suspects. Suspects: Two black males, approximately 5’6”-5’7”, wearing masks NORTHERN DISTRICT BURGLARY ARRESTS BALTIMORE On August 1, 2013, at approximately 3:13 p.m., officers from Northern District responded to the 300 block of Bishop Avenue in Baltimore for a reported burglary in progress. The owner of the residence was not home, but advised Police Communications that he had received information from a neighbor that teenagers were going in and out of his residence. Upon arrival, officers set up a perimeter around the residence and discovered a forced entry was made. Officers then entered into the residence and located three juveniles, two males and one female juvenile inside of the residence without permission. The three juvenile suspects were taken into custody without further incident and transported to Northern District for processing. Food items not belonging in that residence were recovered from inside. A further investigation into the property recovered from Bishop Avenue revealed that both male juveniles arrested in the burglary there were also involved in a burglary that took place in the 200 block of Berlin Avenue earlier between July 31 and August 1. Investigation into that burglary revealed that the juvenile suspects appeared to have made a forced entry and removed food items that were later recovered from the burglary on Bishop Avenue. As a result of the investigation, the13-year-old female from Baltimore, the15-year-old male from Baltimore and the 17-year-old male from Baltimore were all charged in the Bishop Avenue incident and both males were also charged with the Berlin Avenue incident. ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT PARTICIPATING IN 30th ANNUAL “NATIONAL NIGHT OUT” Members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, County leaders and Community groups are teaming up to participate in the 30th annual “National Night Out”. “National Night Out” is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2013, and is a yearly crime and drug prevention program aimed at promoting police and community involvement in the partnership to create safer communities, heightening crime and drug prevention awareness and strengthening community spirit. Residents are urged to come out and participate in this positive event. Chief of Police Kevin Davis will be attending three events to show his support for communities standing against crime. “Much of the success in reducing crime is directly related to citizen involvement,” said Chief of Police Kevin Davis, who will be attending the Shady Side, Crofton and Glen Burnie events. “Forming a partnership between the Police Department and our communities is the best way to combat crime and make Anne Arundel County a great place to live, work and raise a family.” Activities will be taking place at the following locations: 1.) Lula G. Scott Community Center-- located at 6243 Shady Side Road in Shady Side, Maryland. Activities are scheduled from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the Anne Arundel County Police Aviation Unit on location (weather permitting) along with a K-9 demonstration. Various other activities are planned and refreshments will be available. 2.) Cedar Morris Hills Community Building-- located at 351 Arundel Corporation Road, Glen Burnie, Maryland. Activities are scheduled from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with children’s activities, information kiosks, refreshments, Police and Fire Department demonstrations planned along with the Police Department’s Quick Response Team and K-9 on hand. 3.) Crofton Library Parking Lot-- located at 1681 Riedel Road in Crofton, Maryland. Activities are scheduled from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with children’s activities and Police and Fire Demonstrations planned. K-9 and the Quick Response Team will also be present.
