Annie 2014 > Annie 1982, but it was close. The Hard Knock Life (1982) scene was FAR superior to the new version, though. And (spoiler alert) - theres no Punjab. Production-wise, the biggest failure is that the lip-syncing is too obvious, making some of the scenes seem too contrived, unnatural - all of Foxxs numbers sound like studio recordings instead of a guy just singing out loud. And despite the films attempts to make it seem normal or cool, Ill never agree that our current selfie culture is a good thing, because its not. All-in-all, though, Annie (2014) is a really fun film that kids of all ages are sure to enjoy.
