Announcement! BWI of DelMarVa is making a change to our lending library policy. We want to ensure anyone who comes to meetings has a variety of carriers to try, *and* we want all our paying members to have fair access to the carriers in the lending library to take home and try. Unfortunately, we have had a real problem with carriers being returned late. We need the carriers to be returned **at or before** the meeting from which they were borrowed in order for the next caregiver to have a fair chance to try them. To that end, we have decided to institute a late-carrier policy. 1) All carriers are due back *at or before* the meeting from which they were checked out. If you are going to miss the next meeting, it is up to you to get your carrier to the leader before the meeting. If you choose to have a friend take the carrier to the meeting for you, you are still responsible for it until it is returned to the leader. 2) All late returns will be charged a $5 late fee, per month or any portion thereof. 3)After 3 late returns, either 3 separate times, 3 months overdue with the same carrier, or any combination adding up to 3 months of late return, borrowing privileges for that member will be suspended. It will be up to the board to determine if exceptions will be made to this, on a case-by-case basis. We know this is a big change, and we want to ensure everyone has ample time to understand the new policy, and we wish to give everyone a chance to get in good standing before it goes into effect. The Board has decided to make April an amnesty month. Any late carriers returned in April will not be assessed a fee, no matter how late they are. Any late carriers returned after April will be assessed a late fee, $5 per month of lateness including April. We sincerely hope that this change will make our lending library function better for all our members and for those who attend our meetings. :)
