Announcement for Americans interested in the Foreign Service: The U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi will offer the online Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT) on Saturday January 31, from 12 noon to 3:30 PM. Due to the inclusion of a second essay, the test is 30 minutes longer than the previous test, running for 210 minutes. Interested Americans should register directly via the website set up by the test administrator – Pearson VUE. Please visit careers.state.gov/ to learn how to register for the test, and about the overall process of becoming a Foreign Service Officer. The Pearson VUE registration portal will be open from Wed., December 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM Central Time to Wed., January 28 2015 at 10:00 AM Central Time for test registration. Registration cannot be done here at the Embassy, and we are directed not to communicate directly with candidates about seat availability or cancellations. Instead, candidates should use the online system to find openings and to schedule a seat. Interested candidates should not wait until the last minute to register, but should sign up as close to the registration opening date as possible. There will initially be space for six test takers, with another testing date added if these six slots fill up.
