Announcement – JC Dufresne Seeking third term on SDEC representing SD 25 I want to continue to serve Senate District 25 Democrats on the State Democratic Executive Committee. My accomplishments over the last two terms include: leading the successful effort to add Marriage Equality, Decriminalization of Marijuana and Repeal of the Death Penalty to the Democratic Party Platform and restoring referenda on important Democratic issues like expansion of Medicaid, immigration reform, living wage and state employment non-discrimination legislation to the Primary ballot. My leadership has been recognized by state chair Gilberto Hinojosa leading to my appointment as Vice-Chair of the Communications Committee and by my peers through my election to Vice-Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee. There is much more work to be done including improving our party and candidate communications through better use of moral framing of our positions both during campaigns and during the next legislative term. Serving on the Communications Committee gives me a unique opportunity to help shape our messaging. I hope I have earned your trust over the last 4 years and that you’ll support me for a third term on the State Democratic Executive Committee when we caucus at the state convention in June. Thank you for all that you do to bring hope and change to Texas.
