Announcements September 12, 2014 There will be a College Fair at Portage High School on Wednesday, September 17th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. All students and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend! There will be a College Fair at Purdue University Calumet in the Fitness and Recreation Building on Tuesday September 30th from 6:00-7:30 pm. All students and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend! Cornhole for a Cause Sunday, September 14 12pm-6pm Edison Athletic Parking Lot Double Elimination Cornhole Tournament (cash prize for first place winners) $10 for a two person team (See a cheerleader for tickets)There will be food for sale, a bake sale, raffles, 50/50, and more. The event is hosted by Think Brave and proceeds will help the high school cheerleaders raise awareness about breast cancer. Juniors and seniors now is the time to start looking at colleges Indiana Tech will be here on Thursday, St. Mary’s College will be here on the 16th, Valparaiso will be here one the 19th , St. Joseph’s on the 23rd and IU on the 30th. Sign up in the guidance office to talk to a representative from any of these colleges. The Scholastic Book Fair will be in Edison Library during school hours from Monday, 9/15 through Friday, 9/19. Be sure to stop in to shop and support the library! If anyone is interested in running a 5K Glow Fun Run in Portage on Saturday, at 6:30 p.m. Please contact Ms. Elizondo for details. We also need helpers so come and have some fun. Senior proofs are in the office, the order forms must be returned by September 19th if you would like to order pictures. Picture retakes for students and staff will be on September 26th. This evening the Fighting Eagles Football Team will travel to Valparaiso High School to take on the Boone Grove Wolves. Kick off time is 7:00 p.m. Come out and support the team. The Edison Athletic Parent Booster Club has established an online store with Blythes Sporting Goods. The link for the store will only be available a few times throughout the year. It is currently open and taking orders until September 24th if you would like to get your order in for Eagles spirit wear and apparel. The tee shirts are approved spirit wear. There are also sweat pants, hoodies and beanies. These are not school approved spirit wear but they will definitely come in handy with our current weather forecast, they are a great way to display your Eagle pride, and they make awesome gifts too!!
