Annual Christmas Craft Fair, sponsored by The United Community of Maine group, enjoyed the craft fair on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Quimby School, Main Street, Bingham, ME. Although the weather was miserable, with snow, rain and freezing temperatures, loyal followers came out to enjoy the sense of Community participation and friendship. There were many talented crafters displaying their wares. The Boy Scouts of America set up a table and sold lovely door wreaths decorated handsomely. Mr. Whiteley, owner of From The Woodpile, had his wonderful wood turnings of pens, wine glasses, pepper grinders, wooden bowls, wine bottle corks, candle holders, and much more. If you are interested in speaking with Michael Whitely regarding his beautiful unique items, contact him at michaelwwhiteley@gmail. Dotty Farrell had her wonderfully one of a kind sweater gloves and other items. Louise Strickland offered her beautifully colored and crafted bags. Patty LaHay and friend Christine offered Mince meat, and other unmatched items. Patty Montalvo offered many different style aprons, bags, fleece items and more. Tony Viles and Alisha Jacobs had numerous unique items including striking door wreaths to decorate your home for the holiday. Essie Golden had a large table of marvelous estate jewelry, some very distinctive items. The Nazarene Church Youth Group had a table with items that were made by the children of the group. Anything from their table was a treasure for sure. We missed Pastor Tim and his lovely wife, but the roads were too bad for them to travel to Bingham. Not a problem Pastor Tim, maybe next time. In the center of the hall was Fran Tatakis and her daughter, offering a variety of items including wool knitted socks and gloves, doilys, knitted sweaters and other selective items. Last but not least, there was a table of homemade pies, pumpkin and banana nut bread, cupcakes and brownies, all homemade by the wonderful newcomer to the committee membership, Denise Pride. All moneys made from Denises bake sale benefited the Christmas Kids Party. Camden National Bank, Bingham, was gracious and loaned their Popcorn Popper Machine to the Chamber and Committee. Barbara Lord, President of the Upper Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce and committee member, manned the popcorn table and enjoyed giving out popcorn. There was a raffle with items provided by each vendor, Thank You so much for your generosity vendors. There was a food court with tempting Dynamites (made by Doreen Morrill), Jumbo Hot Dogs, chips, and drinks. Our Fran Tatakis, Carolanne Dionne and Mary Anne Green manned the kitchen. Thank you Ladies!!! We are looking forward to our Annual Spring Craft Fair which kicks off the spring season. Hope everyone who was at the Fair enjoyed themselves and found something unique to purchase. We wish each and everyone A WONDERFUL AND SAFE CHRISTMAS AND THE BEST NEW YEAR!!
