Annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at the Port Antonio town square last night Dec 18. Dignitaries, citizens of Port Antonio and the general public turned out at this years annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony put on by the Portland parish council at the Port Antonio town square. The ceremony got on the way minutes after six pm. Siloh Apostolic church choir, the Titchfield High school choir and Rockhall all age entertained the audience by singing carols, popular songs and drama item. His worship the mayor of Port Antonio Benny White in speaking to the large crowd mentioned the current sewage and drainage project going on the town and was pleased that the town square was ready in time for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Hon. Lincoln Thaxter Custos Rotulorum for Portland and MP for East Portland Lynvale Bloomfield also gave speeches. The lighting of the Christmas tree was done at about 8pm by Mayor Benny White, MP Bloomfield and youth Mayor Zedan Martin.
