Anon asks I need some advice about dummies/pacifiers please. We were completely against them to start. How do they work / fit with Attachment Parenting and/or RIE? Our lactation consultant suggested one for our 7.5 week old boy. Reason being forceful let down = quick feed times. When he wants to soothe he gets milk and gets upset and is then harder to get to sleep as his nervous system is razzed from this. Thats a theory anyway. Hes very easily overstimulated and gets overtired. Either the above or its another wonder week? Thoughts / advice and pros and cons of dummies and how do we use one responsibly with above situation. Dont want him addicted or to invalidate his needs or feelings. Thank you so much!
