Anon asks Sorry in advance, this is a long one. Im getting a lot of pressure to wean my 17 month old, from her dad. We are separated (he left when she was 8 weeks old) but I try to make sure she sees him twice a week. He comes to our house once and we go to his once. He lives more than an hour away though, and sometimes I wonder if Im doing the wrong thing by taking her all the way there, as she isnt the biggest fan of cars. We switch where we meet bc he has a son three months younger he has had full custody of for a year now, and it just seems to make sense for the kids to take turn travelling, but I still dont like carting her there once a week. Am I doing wrong by her by putting her through those car trips? Sometimes she cries the whole way there and shes usually a really happy girl, I dont know what to do. Back to him wanting me to wean... so any time I try to tell him the benefits of breastfeeding he just gets offended bc his son is bottle fed from 2 months old and he thinks Im having a go. He also keeps saying its important for our daughter to stay overnight at his, but I cant do it bc she breastfeeds and cosleeps and I just think she would be so scared. She likes her dad, yes. But before we got regular days going, sometimes she wouldnt see him for two months. But even is she was, I really struggle with expressing, I just dont know what the solution is. I really dont want to wean. He keeps making references to the kid in Game of Thrones who I think is 8 and bf, which I dont respond to, and just constantly implying if I go past two years its perversion etc etc. I dont know what to do 😞 Is he right that she should spend nights with him? I dont want to wean but I do want what is best for her.
