Anon has asked: Im due with my second in June and have booked in to have a home birth through sunshine hospital in melbourne. Im very excited (and a little nervous too) and just have a question regarding my toddler. We get a midwife come over as part of the set up, it might even be two I think. My husband will be supporting me and wont be able to focus on my DD so much, how have others done this? Do you get the toddler to stay with someone (my sister lives close by, but I dont want my sister at the birth - I dont have any other family nearby) or do you have to get someone over to babysit while its all going on? How do they cope with the birth, I know my first birth probably would have frightened the living dead away with my noises Im not sure DD would cope with that. What are other peoples experiences?
