Anonymous: A question Ive never asked my doctor because I thought hed think it was silly and perhaps it is. Ive had gp for about 3.5 years now with all the symptoms but Im lucky that I largely manage to stop myself fully vomiting (although my nausea and reflux do cause me to regurgitate a bit) and manage to process enough food not to lose loads of weight and do not currently need a feeding tube. However, I have become increasingly intolerant of more foods that get put on my foods to avoid list. My question is this: My doctor said Ive done very well and theres a chance I might grow out of having gp. But some patients Ive spoken to say it gets much worse. For those whove had it for a very long time; has your gp gotten worse over the years? Did you start off reasonably well and then decline suddenly or gradually? I often fear/wonder whether I might someday need a feeding tube too and have been too scared of offending people to ask how long it was before people got them in their case and what stage they got to before it was necessary. Sorry for the waffle. But I really wanted to ask some of the ladies in this group, which, by the way, has been an amazing addition and support to get through the really bad days. Thank you xxx
