Anonymous Confession #45- So I love film, like my dream in life is to become a beast of a filmmaker and win millions of awards. Ive had this somewhat amazing goal for ages! And it wasnt until yr10 where I actually did something about it. What did I do? I had the crazy idea of doing Extension English 2. I guess its not too crazy but the only problemo is, is that I am awful at English! So bad I get Ds and once I got an E which is really bad when you thought you did a good job. So In yr11 I did Advanced English and Extension English 1. Oh my gawd it was utter horse shit. I had to read massive notes about massive books that I could never read. But at the end of Yr11 my Ext Eng class got to do a Mini Major work which was a sample of what to expect in yr12. And I was like F**K YEAH, I GET TO MAKE A SHORT FILM. Which was awesome, only problem, I casted my (at the time) crush to be the main role... Which, if youre wondering, didnt turn out so well, haha go figure. But my film got a B+ and many people gave it a thumbs up as a first try considering I only had 5 weeks to do it! So I started my yr12 major work and it was good, smooth sailing. Scripting was easy (if I could spell), casting was simple, filming was a breeze and editing wasnt to bad. But the assessments in between where horrible. Thus making my internal mark 29/50... Yeah bad right! So now comes the last week before its due and guess what, we have trials. TRIALS! So I pulled an all nighter, no sleep for 45 hours with 7 exams to do all in a week where I had to finish one of my majors. When its all done, the font was wrong. Which meant I didnt follow the guidelines and my anxiety exploded out of control, it was bad before but when it was done I cried! So due to my thirst for filmmaking, i did a lot of Extra work to make 2 films for no absolute reason... So when the results came out it turned out I got 40/50, which is HUGE for someone like me! I got low band 4s in advanced and extension one. But in extension 2, man, I was ecstatic!! Thats 80%! Its hard see people who are disappointed with their ATAR even though they got in the 90s or high 80s or whatever but for me, yeah I got 62, but I got 80% in the highest level of English you can do. And I got a place at uni this year. #GlassHalfFull
