Anonymous question reposted by Joanne :) I am taking my son, who will be 9 on Sept 3rd and is also an Aspie, to Dragon-con in Atlanta next Saturday. I am going with the "expect and prepare for anything" attitude. He has been known to do quite well in public outings, such as a Braves game. And on the other hand he can become overwhelmed in restaurants and want to climb under the table. He is really excited about going and I told him that there will be A LOT of people there. He will be in costume (he loves costumes). I was just wondering if there are any other parents who do as I do, and allow their Aspie to engage in certain social activities even though they understand it can be a positive experience or a not so positive one. I am prepared for him to last all day or perhaps a few hours. Who knows! But we are going to give it our best shot! Dragon-con....here we come!
