I have debated about doing this all day, but driving home from work tonight along Maudsland Rd you drive past the flowers on the side of the road where a young motor cyclist lost his life two weeks ago and past the broken fences where a serious accident happened yesterday. Maudsland Rd has been in the media for several weeks now due to the deaths and serious accidents. Thank you very much. After two recent fatalities and a number of serious accidents in the last month on Maudsland Rd, the last serious accident only yesterday, i was horrified to follow a green Nissan Patrol, number plate Finch, almost the length of Maudsland Road this morning and noticed the car weaving from one side of its lane to the other. Occasionally going over the double lines then correcting itself to practically go off onto the shoulder. The whole time this was happening, the woman driving the car was lifting her head, then looking down and kept repeating this. You could see her in her side mirror and her rear vision mirror doing this for several klms. There was absolutely no doubt, she was texting on her phone. She continued to do this down the Gaven Arterial until she turned right to head down towards Helensvale Westfield. To the woman who did this, you may not care about your own life, but please think about others that you may run into and potentially kill or seriously injure.
