Anonymous shares: Hi. I was wondering if someone could answer some questions for me as I am feeling very lost and confused. We had in home therapy (bay state) come in (hospital told us to since their eval isnt until july 8th) and evaluate my daughter who just turned 4 March 11th and we (me and my parents) were told that my daughter is on the autism spectrum but shes high functioning. Then I was given the name of 2 books told to buy them and read them then Ill understand. They cant answer any of my questions because as they said was theyre not specialist and they dont know much on autism. Honestly we were expecting them to say adhd or something like that. My daughters pedi, speech and occupational therapist are questioning the diagnosis though and were just waiting for the report. But I dont know how to feel when they told us I broke down and cried because it was such a shock and we know nothing about autism so we feel like weve been left in the dark. And I wont have a sure answer until she goes to the eval at the hospital in July but it feels so far away even though its not. Im just hoping there might be someone who might understand how Im feeling or might be able to help me figure this all out. From a very scared and confused mom
