Another Babby Update.. Honestly, I was kind of hoping the babby updates would have been over by now, but drama continues in the land of cribs and crybabys. So another unhappy dip in blood sugar tonight, which means yet more delays in getting out little guy home. TMI WARNING: The issue perhaps stems from breastfeeding not giving him enough to keep his sugar and weight up. Were switching to the pump and bottle method to see if he can get his fill that way. I dont know if this means breastfeeding is impossible or not, but whatever the case Im confident that this new feeding method will yield positive results. Elisa is discharged tomorrow which I suppose means well just be bopping around the hospital in the hopes that hell be released to us later in the afternoon. (For every blood sugar dip, that equals another 12 hours in intensive care). Its increasingly hard to stave off the depression of only being able to interact with our own son outside of our own little corner of the neonatal unit, but we know its all for the babys well-being. However, this will just make the happy tears flow more freely once hes finally in our own bassinet and surrounded by noisemaking toys. Sigh.
