Another Back Then from Cherokee Nation. Gosh I love these. We were poor but we didnt know... We were the same way. We didnt know. And we were pretty happy running the woods. You dont know what you dont have, and wealth is relevant. We made our own games, now and then got our hands on. some marbles and jacks and thought that was the best. Mama sewed stuffed animals for us and we wore those out playing with them. We made our own butter and always had a hog and other meat in the freezer, fresh milk and vegetables - and I never remember a day of hunger, never. Life got even better when I started visiting my grandma a lot at age eleven or so. I look back and now know she and my grandpa were so poor and living in a shack, but it didnt seem like a shack then. It had warm blankets and pork frying in vats out back, and bread boiling - made from cornmeal and wrapped in husks, boiled first, from the summer corn crop. The Back Then videos really take me back. Better times I think in many ways
