Another Badass Report for Veterans Day! Private Floyd Lindstrom of the 3rd ID earned the Medal of Honor on this day in 1943 in Mignano Italy. He was part of a machinegun platoon attacking a hill emplacement of Nazis when they were pushed back into defensive positions, and reduced to a small force outnumbered 5 to1! He organized re-establishing their machine gun position while under enemy fire, but unable to be effective from where he was, he single-handedly carried the machine gun forward 15 yards in the open under fire. He set up a new site only 30 feet from the enemy and a raging machinegun duel ensued. Seeing the Germans were too well hidden in the rocks, he charged alone up the rest of the hill, killed them with a pistol, captured their machinegun and drug it back to his own small band to use, he then ran back up the hill in the open to get the German ammo too! His badass-ness and spectacular performance completely broke up the German counterattack, and his aggressive spirit and complete fearlessness in the face of death earned him the Medal of Honor.
