Another Feather to the Cap of ISRO and Proud Moment for Country, - TopicsExpress

Another Feather to the Cap of ISRO and Proud Moment for Country, as Indian Inches near to launch its own Regional Navigational Satellite System India is moving closer to setting up its own navigation system on par with the Global Positioning System (GPS) of the US – the most common used and known navigational system world over. Country has achieved another success in Indias space programme with the launch of third navigation satellite IRNSS 1C by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on board its PSLV C 26 rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota on 16 October 2015 . IRNSS 1C is part of the series of seven satellites that (ISRO) is planning to launch to put in place what is called the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System. The first two satellites in the series IRNSS 1A and IRNSS 1B were launched in July 2013 and April 2014 respectively. With this launch it is for the first time that India has conducted four orbital launches in a year for which planning and execution has been done during last many years by the dedicated, hardworking and able scientists, engineers, technicians and managers of ISRO to put Indian as leader in Space Research & Technnology. Lifting off from the First Launch Pad of the spaceport, the rocket painted a golden brush of flames in the night sky and 20 minutes later successfully placed the 1,425.4 kg weighing satellite in the intended orbit. It was perfect launch by ISRO as the satellite was placed into a Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit with a 284 km perigee and 20,650 km apogee with an inclination of 17.86 degree with respect to the equatorial plane. IRNSS is designed to provide accurate position information service to users in the country as well as the region extending up to 1,500 km from its boundary, which is its primary service area. This System was conceived in April 2010 and as part of the project, a new satellite navigation center Deep Space Network (DSN) was opened at Byalalu near Bangalore on 28 May 2013. A network of 21 ranging stations located across the country will provide data for the orbit determination of the satellites and monitoring of the navigation signal.A goal of complete Indian control has been stated, with the space segment, ground segment and user receivers all being built in India. Its location in low latitudes facilitates a coverage with low-inclination satellites. Three satellites will be in geostationary orbit over the Indian Ocean. Missile targeting could be an important military application for the constellation. The total cost of the project is expected to be 1420 Crore with the cost of the ground segment being 300 Crore and each satellites costing 125 Crore. The IRNSS would provide two types of services -- Standard Positioning Service, which is provided to all the users and Restricted Service, which is an encrypted service provided only to the authorized users. IRNSS applications include terrestrial and marine navigation, disaster management, vehicle tracking and fleet management, navigation aide for hikers and travellers, visual and voice navigation for drivers. Till date apart from United States Global Positioning System (GPS), a select group of countries have their own navigation systems -- Russias Global Orbiting Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS), European Unions Galileo (GNSS), Chinas BeiDou Satellite Navigation System and Japans Quasi-Zenith Satellite System. Dear friends again I am reiterating my point that those who cry foul that Indian has done nothing appreciable or commendable since freedom do not know the real worth of India. Indian has progressed in each and every sphere but it is only because majority of us have become parasite and want to sustain on Govt’s Wealth and Welfare Measures without contributing towards it by becoming patriotic and country loving citizens. Let us all vow to stop corruption of all forms and perform our duty with dedication and sincerity to see our India as Super Power in 2025. Amen ! Jai Hind Jai Bharat ! PS: Sorry to say but this major event got unnoticed by both print and broadcast media as media men were busy in politics only not progress. In many national newspapers the news was presented as BOX Item. Think !
