Another FedEx Lie FedEx will do everything in their power to frighten you with talks about all the money you will pay if you form a union. However, these claims are false. When we come together to form a union at FedEx, we are not required to pay any of the costs associated with forming a union. You will pay dues, but only when you have reached an agreement on a contract. The small amount of dues you pay will bring large rewards in raises, benefits, job security, representation and working conditions. The added pay and benefits and affordable healthcare we receive belonging to a union are a great deal more than the cost of your union dues. The dues go to pay for organizers, legal assistance, support staff, rent, materials, etc… which are all needed to maintain good contracts and adequate representation. No one at FedEx pays union dues until we have voted to accept a contract. FedEx wants you to believe if you form a union you will have little or no power, and should your terminal become unionized, FedEx won’t bargain with you, or comply with your contract. What FedEx doesn’t want you to know is that, they must cooperate and bargain with you when you form a union and by federal law abide by your contract.
